Say goodbye to blanched wood surfaces, say design experts. That trend is fading this year. Clients are concerned that bleached and whitewashed floors, a hallmark of Scandinavian and Modern Farmhouse styles, will not stand the test of time. Also leaving designer showrooms apparently are the flooring materials that were part of the gray wave of the past five years as designers shift to warmer palattes. What’s “in”? With floors that’s walnut, mahogany and dark oak. “People want rooms that are a bit more cozy, with richer, darker colors,” explains Jenna Rochon, a Los Angeles designer.
